Useful Links - more information relating to Linn Park Suggestions for more links are always welcome.

  • Walking Links
    • Scanned copy of the Cathcart Heritage Trail leaflet published by Glasgow District Council circa 1990. The copy belongs to Robert Paterson a Canadian citizen whose family roots are in Glasgow. A fortunate meeting on Friday 10th June 2011 followed by a pint in the Old Smiddy ensured a copy.
    • The Old Smiddy Pub (Cathcart) - Our Local or on Facebook.
  • For your garden
    • TheNuttery.com
    • Bluebells - visit producer Vera Bluebell - and they are "Scottish" viz NOT Spanish ! Search Google for "Hyacinthoides non-scripta". Vera Blubell now sell through the Gee Tee Bulb Co.
  • About the various organisations near by:
    • Old Cathcart and Simmshill Community Council [It collapsed some years ago. It then restarted, but appears in 2016 to have too few members. It has a web site; a Facebook page]
    • Muirend and Netherlee Residents Association - Featuring photos of Linn Park !
    • Old Cathcart Community Garden - nice place to chill out - volunteers wanted.
    • The Friends of Linn Park. The Facebook page may be used to send comments to the Council.
      • A new group is in the process of starting.... the web site will be hosted by BT - be warned BT collect data from this web site for marketing purposes.
    • The nearby Castlemilk History has a facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Castlemilk-History-116432021792052/
  • The Lottery
    • Supported by the founders of this site: "Path to the Beach" in November 2008 raised just over £50k.
  • Unreliable Links to Glasgow City Council web site ... nightmare -  fed up with updating their ever changing links.
    • The Adventure Playground (Netherlee Road) - Search using Google
    • About Glasgow's Parks etc. Search Google. Beware the Linnpark pdf leaflet is not usable on screen.
    • The Keeping Glasgow Clean campaign reinvents itself too often to be useful. Their flyer of 13th February 2007 had a nice view looking down stream [that's north] from the Snuff Mill bridge. Not to be found.
